Output Power vs. Spectrum

The above animated image shows a progression of output power level settings from +20dBm to +32dBm, inclusive. The nature of OFDM peak to average power ratio causes ever-increasing amplifier distortion and sideband behavior as the output power is increased and the amplifier clips. The measurements were taken through a -20dB directional coupler into a terminator. The displayed marker readings are therefore 20dB lower than actual power. Resolution bandwidth was set to 3MHz.
